The Inn - Our Grounds
Upon your arrival to C’est La Vie Inn, you’ll notice the grand garland fence and gates with their spindle balls. Once you step through the front gate you’ll find yourself surrounded by a lush Victorian landscape, complete with water feature. We are fortunate that Eugene’s temperate climate allows us to plant 35 different species of Japanese maple trees, a bountiful assortment of flowering specimens (fuchsia, rose, dahlia, and magnolia), and countless scented blossoms (daphne, rose, lavender, rosemary, and wisteria). The collective result is an idyllic setting for nature’s airborne creatures: songbirds, hummingbirds, butterflies, and two acrobatic squirrels.
In addition to the bountiful gardens, C’est La Vie Inn is home to a carefully maintained outdoor railroad that will delight youngsters and young-at-hearts alike. The railroad runs on demand, all year long.
We invite you to explore our grounds and engage in the pursuit of small pleasures: an aimless stroll in the fully landscaped garden, sip some of Oregon’s best vintages, listen the melodic tones of the wind chimes, or simply read in the shade garden with the resident cat for a companion.
